    I agree. Osteoporosis screenings should be as everyday as blood pressure screenings and cholesterol screenings. Go Costco!

    It is certainly a very interesting concept. How is the screening performed and how accurate is it likely to be? Certainly it is a good idea, but how reliable is it?

    Thanks so much for your question. Since I wrote that post this summer, I've had the opportnity to learn a bit more about how these scans work. While they're great in terms of increasing awareness about osteoporosis (and hopefully encourage women to be proactive about prevention), many doctors do not consider them especially reliable.
