What an inspiring story of a group in York banding together to ensure that osteoporosis is adequately detected and treated. When a 71-year-old woman on osteoporosis meds went to get the DEXA scan prescribed by her doctor, she learned it was unavailable at her local hospital.
Now a support group of the National Osteoporosis Society is pushing for the scanner to help her and the many others in the community who could benefit. Here's a link to the article:
