The Ladies' Home Journal just announced their 2007 Health Breakthrough Award recipients, and they include Dr. Ethel S. Siris, director of the Toni Stabile Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Osteoporosis and the Madeline C. Stabile Professor of Clinical Medicine at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center and president of the National Osteoporosis Foundation.
Dr. Siris has been a powerful force in the struggle to make osteoporosis a preventable disease, and has shared her knowledge with countless patients and other doctors. And for you royal-watchers out there, you may be interested to hear Dr. Siris has met with the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall (who is a longtime vocal advocate for osteoporosis awareness) on this health challenge, strengthening the bonds among the leaders who promote research into the disease.
Congratulations on this latest honor from Ladies' Home Journal, Dr. Siris, it is richly deserved.
