I was very excited to see that Pike County in Illinois has started a new program to educate high schoolers about osteoporosis awareness and prevention. Freshmen and sohphomores will learn about the importance of good nutrition and regular exercise -- info that might serve not only to ward off brittle bones but possibly a host of other diseases. To me it is wonderful to see adolescent's long-term well being considered to be a significant component of health class.
