My mother-in-law had terrible side effects including:  terrible headaches, muscle & joint aches, couldn't move head, couldn't use left hand, unable to walk without help & pain in kidney area.  I would never have another shot!

My mother also had/is having terrible side effects from Reclast.  She was sick ("flu-like symptoms") for 4 days after the IV drip.  Uncontrolable trembling for 1/2 hour (twice) the day of and day after treatment.  Fingertips are numb.  Could sign/address only 5 Christmas cards at a time and then had to stop for an hour or longer.  Arm(s) go numb within 20 minutes of talking on the phone/holding the phone to her ear.  Have never had this type of health issue prior to IV.  Healthcare providers/administrator NOT helpful - have no answers - barely acknowledge that there are certain side effects.  Seems as if she has multiple internal calcium burns.  Got Reclast IV mid-November; numbness still persists as of mid-January.  Hoping these problems will eventually go away (???).  She will NEVER have this treatment again!

My goodness, how terrible -- and the fact that the healthcare providers have not been responsive makes an unfortunate situation even worse. I wish you the best in helping your mother with this -- she is fortunate to have such a concerned daughter!

I'm so sorry to hear about your mother-in-law, what a tough thing to go through! I hope she was able to find with her doctor another way to address her osteoporosis.
