Yep, it seem like every time one turns around there's still more good news to report about the importance of adequate intake of Vitamin D.

Many of us on this site are particularly interested about the vitamin's role in the absorption of calcium and preventing osteoporosis, but we're not about to complain if it lessens the chance of cancer, are we?

This article from the Baltimore Sun provides a fascinating overview of many of the health benefits associated with Vitamin D: http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/health/bal-te.hs.vitamind11sep11,0,4937265.story?coll=bal_news_local_baltimore_county_util

And interestingly enough, it cites a figure that indicates that, while cancer rates drop the most in those who take calcium and Vitamin D, even taking calcium supplements alone may be helpful. So let's keep taking our cal plus D every day!
