  • There is new research in the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research that the process of single-energy vertebral fracture assessment (VFA), used to detect potential compression fractures in the spine, can also provide information on the possibility of stroke or heart attacks in the patient.

     

    Physicians may be able to use the scan to look for cardiovascular disease based on abdominal aortic calcification.
