Q: My ast/sgot and alt/sgpt levels are low however my alk phcs level is high? What could the reasoning be for this?

Hi Christina, welcome.  It would be best to discuss this with the Dr. that ordered the test.  It looks like they are checking your liver so I would make a list of questions, so you are prepared for your next appointment.

 

Alkaline phosphotase can be used to check liver and bone, but that isn't telling you much you don't already know.

 

Good luck with your Drs appointment and be sure to ask all the questions you have.  If you only get a limited amount of time with the Dr., ask your most pertinent questions first.
