I have osteoporosis. My doctor rec.D-3. I am taking silver centrum and caltrate. Advise
Should I take D-3??
Hi Janet, Thanks for the question. Vitamin D3 is necessary for absorbtion of calcium, which is why calcium supplements also contain D and yes if your dr. advises it you should take it. This link (written by Pam, a very smart lady) will tell yoiu about D3, what it does, how much is needed and why you should take it. Take care...phyllis

HI Janet, hope you had a nice 4th. I don't think age has anything to do wtih the dose, unless you have other health factors tham may come into play. 1000 mg a day is reccomeneded, but i've read that number may be a bit on the low side. You could ask your dr. what he thinks is the best amount for you to take. have a good day..take care...phyllis

Phyllis,
Thanks for the response regarding Vit.D3. Does it matter how much you take and does age matter?
