Q: just receivedmy bd readings, 2.9 in spine and 2.3 in hip. my doctor reccomends aclasta. where can

i just got my test results back.  2.9 in spine and 2.3 in hip.

aclasta was suggested.  concerned about side effects.  been on  pretty well everything but forteo and strontium r.  is there a hospital with specialists in osteo i could speak with

Hi Susi:  Sorry you haven't had luck with the other osteo meds, that too bad. 

 

Here's a link from the National Osteoporosis Foundation where you can look up Dr.s that specialize in osteoporosis.  When you go to the link be sure to include the country you are in and then the area where you live or would like to go to.

 

Aclasta is zolendronic acid, and what we call Reclast here in the US.  Since it sounds like you've read about this already, you may want to ask the Dr. about Protelos (strontium ranelate) or Forteo (link from Cleveland Clinic).

 

Good luck finding a specialist in this area.
