I have a very sensitive stomach. Which of these drugs would be best for me?
Hello little lady, welcome and thanks for asking the question. From what i've read many of the now available osteo drugs have a side effect of stomach issues. Have you talked to your dr. about which one he thinks might be the easist on your stomach? There is quite a bit of info out on all of them that you could read about before talking to him. Being informed is a good way to open an discussion about all the pros and cons of each one.
I do have suggestion for you that you might want to look into, its strontium citrate, I've been taking it for almost 3 years now and have had no side effects at all. It's a natural supplement that can be ordered online and if your lucky in some stores. There are plenty of sites that will give you info, but this one covers it all pretty well.
This link will provide info about the prescription from of strontium citrate..Protelos, which is used in Europe and many other countries to treat osteo. It's not FDA approved here yet, but is in the trial stages. The article gives a very informative look at strontium, but here in the States we take 680 mg. a day in capsule form, not a powder mixed with water. It covers everything from what it does, how it does it and side effect to look for.
.
Have you started or doing a fitness progam of weight bearing and weight training? How bout supplements like calcium, vit D, magnesium, fish oil and good multivitamin? And lets not forget a good healthy diet. There are many things you can do to help your bones that are easy to work into your daily life.
If there is more we can help you with please ask. take care...phyllis

Hi Phylis: Thks for the info. Yes, I am already doing weight bearing exercise, calcium, Vitt. D, magnesium, fish oil etc etc. I probably could eat more leafy greens but my diet is quite good. So I will definitely do some research on the strontium citrate. Thks again. --little lady
