Q: Forteo and Fosomax together?

The doctor prescribed Forteo for my mother. He did not say whether to continue Fosomax or not, although I showed him her list of prescriptions. The two drugs seem to work the opposite ways, should I be worried?

Hi GG4418:  Good question.  I would call the Dr and remind s(he) that your mom was taking Fosamax and you are wondering if she should continue.  I've never heard of taking the 2 meds at the same time, but who knows.  Isn't getting both of them filled really expensive?

Good luck...

Hi again:  I forgot to mention that this question was discussed earlier and I posted some links on the topic of taking other medications with Forteo.  Here's the link that will explain it.  In that question we were talking about estrogen and Forteo, because Fosamax is a similar type of drug you may want to read what others say about not combining a antiresorptive with Forteo.

Good luck...
