Q: i am a diabetic and they want to put me on forteo, i am 77 and have lost 1 inch in height

Hi tenez, welcome and thanks for your question.  As far as I know, there is no contraindication for patients with diabetes taking Forteo.  I took Forteo for 2 years and did really well, without any side effects.  Here's an article on Forteo, from the Cleveland Clinic, that you can read to see if Forteo will affect the diabetes.  I've read this article and can't find any mention or caution for those with diabetes.  If you are on insulin, it would mean adding an additional daily injection, so think about this and if you wan't to make this commitment.
