I have experienced those severe shooting pains/cramping in arms, hips, shins, and thighs, ---especially at night. Much too uncomfortable to get any sleep at least a night a week.   One thing the nurse told us at the training session was to make certain not to "time" a dosage of calcium too close (I use a four hour margin) to the "time" of your injection.  That helped me tremendously!!!!!!     I called the Forteo hotline today because I still have pain/cramping off and on for no apparent reason.  They did not even know about the "tip" I shared above, much less have any new ideas on how to avoid the side effects.  I have found no pain medications helpful except for the kind that "knock you out."  Forget Aspirin, Tylenol, Advil, etc.  No good.   Please, someone . . . if you know of any other "hints"--let's please pass them along.  We need to use this drug and want to find a way to endure it.
