Hi Vinton, welcome...  Here's a list of the most common side effects for Actonel from HealthSquare.

Abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, flu symptoms, general aches and pain, headache, high blood pressure, indigestion, infection, joint pain, muscle pain, nausea, nerve pain.

Some people have some of these side effects and some don't, so it's really hard to say which you'll be.  This drug stays in the system for some time, so if you have a reaction there is a possibility that it could last more than a few days.

Can you talk to others at your Drs office to see how they are doing?  I'm sure you'll find that there are many different reactions, and maybe they could help you.

Good luck deciding on this.

Think of the worst pain you have ever indured and multiply it by ten.  I just took it

yesterday and I am at work literally crying.  My stomach feels as if an animal is chewing its' way out and my back and joints hurt so much that I can barely walk.  I take once a month actonel, I don't know if that is stronger or not.  Also my doctor told me to continue taking my calcium pills.  I take 800 mils a day.  Maybe this is what is causing all this pain.  I don't think I can do this anymore.  Does

anyone know of a pill that doesn't effect you this way?
