Q: I have fibromyalgia and my Dr wants me to do Reclast. I am concerned about the side effects

I have firbromyalgia and severe oseteoporosis.  My Dr wants me to take Reclast because I can't take the oral meds.  I am concerned about the side effects of extreme muscle and joint pain that I have read about.

Hi Dianna: Good question.  Some people experience joint pain with Reclast and some don't, so it's hard to say whether or not that would happen to you.  I would talk to the Dr and see what they say about this, and then try to make your decision based on your knowledge and there's.

I do believe that the number of patients with this side effect are less than those that don't experience it, but since you already have a pain problem I can see why you would be concerned about it.

Here's a link about Reclast that might help to explain the side effects.

Good Luck...
