Q: I am going to have a tooth extracted. I take forteo. Is it safe to keep taking it?

I have fractured my femur so I don't want to quit taking forteo unless absolutely neccesary.

Hi Linda,

Thank you for your question. I would recommend discussing this with both your doctor and your dentist. I have not found any information that advises discontinuation of Forteo for dental procedure, but your doctor and/or dentist should know more about your situation and be better suited to answer your question.
