Q: Coverage for Reclasp

Is Reclasp covered by Medicade and BlueCross/BlueShield of Michigan?  A few years ago my mother was told that it wasnt covered. I find this hard to believe.

Hi vicki:  Do you have your mom's insurance info so you can call MC or BC/BS about Reclast?

I'm not sure if she's getting her health coverage from BC/BS, as an HMO, or just Medicaid.  Medicaid varies from state to state, so you would have to find out about your particular state coverage of Reclast.

Reclast generally falls under Part B of Medicare/Medicaid not under the Part D drug coverage, so call Medicare/Medicaid and ask if they pay for Reclast infusion.  Also, the Dr. prescribing Reclast, for your Mom, should know if her insurance will pay for this or not.

Here's more info on Reclast if you'd like to read it.

Good luck...
