Hi R S, welcome to the community.  Has your oral surgeon suggested taking a drug holiday from the Fosamax before the implant surgery?  Occasionally this is the approach that is used, but there is also a test you can have to determine the amount of bone turn-over you're experiencing now which could affect the outcome of the implant surgery.  Read this link about a similar question one of our members had on this topic, and see what your surgeon says about running this test called CTx.

Also, if you are at-risk for healing problems, this should be determined by the oral surgeon with a evaluation of your jaw bone and it's strength at this time.  If you don't have periodontal disease, you would have much less risk for the bone to heal properly.

Good luck and if you have another question just post again and ~~Happy New Year~~
