Q: what are some of the side effect of this treatment and do you think it worth it

Hi sissie, welcome and thanks for your question.  Because we are all extremely different and have different medical histories it would be impossible to tell you if this drug is right for you.  Many people take it and don't have side effects and then there are some that do, so it's impossible to say how you'd react.

Read the above article and see if it helps you by explaining the possible effects and how it works.  Look for the precautions as well to be sure you don't have any of the medical problems that are contraindicated with this, like low blood calcium (hypocalcemia) or kidney disorders or disease.

 

The main common side effects are: flu-like symptoms, stomach upset, and bone/joint pain.  Not everyone will have these effects so try to read as much as you can and check the links in the above article to see if any of it applies to your medical history.  Also speak with your Dr. to see if this is the best choice given any medical problems you may have besides osteoporosis.
