Thank you for sharing your important question. If you hav been diagnosed with osteoporosis, calcium and Vitamin D are both great and may help prevent further bone loss -- or at least prevent the osteoporosis from worsening as much as it might have otherwise. Exercise can also be beneficial, but one must take special care to avoid any activity that could result in a fall or otherwise cause a fracture -- so be sure to get your doctor's approval before embarking on a fitness regimen. Unfortunately, in some cases, even these helpful measures may not be sufficient to restore bone mass and a physician may recommend prescription treatment. It depends on the individual situation such as T-score, personal and familial history of fracture, other risk factors and suitability for particular medications.
