Q: does forteo have to be kept frozen

I have severe osteoporosis and have been talking to a Doctor about a drug that helps rebuild bone mass by 12 1/2 percent.  She said it had to be kept frozen and was priced somewhere between $750-$1,000.  Said it had to be delivered to the doctors office.  Could she be talking about Forteo?

Forteo is NOT to be frozen. Your doctor can give you a brochure about Forteo which tells you all about it. You can also go to the Forteo website and it will give you information about the drug, how to take it, etc... Specifically the drug is not to be frozen - only kept in the refrigerator. If it gets frozen you have to throw it out. Also, you have to throw it out after 28 days.  Hope this helps.
