Hi Lu,

Thank you for your question! Bone pain is not a known side effect of Vitamin D. However, if you are experiencing pain in your bones, I would recommend contacting your doctor. There may be other medications that you're taking that could cause the bone pain, and your doctor should be able to help you determine what is causing the pain. Best of luck to you!

I do not have osteoporosis, but was diagnosed as vitamin D deficient.  I have taken the same dosage for the last 10 weeks, and at the outset, my bones were very sore.  Just this morning, I had a blood draw to re-check my vitamin D levels, and the tech who took my blood is also vitamin D deficient, taking 50,000 units per week.  I asked her about the bone pain, and she said when she first began taking the supplement, he bones hurt terribly.
