Hi coach, welcome...Since you are still experiencing pain after 6 weeks, you really need to see your Dr. It's impossible to tell what may have happened, to cause this pain, but I'm sure your Dr. will order some tests or do some physical exam to determine the cause of the pain. It's not unusual to injure yourself when you lift something heavy, which is why it's a good idea to avoid it if you can, by getting assistance, using a dolly and always bending from the knees when you squat to lift something. Don't bend from the waist when you lift something. Either do a hip hinge, which you do by keeping your spine straight (flat) and bending forward from the hips, or squatting and bending from the knees.
In any case, please see your Dr. to find out what has happened. Chances are it's nothing serious, but until you see him/her you won't know.
Good luck...
