Hi Kaye, welcome... I would read as much as you can on this medication so you can make an informed decision. All of these medications have many side effects; the problem is we don't know what they'll be until we try it. If you have any of the contraindications for it, be sure to notify your Dr, because you may not be able to take it.
Here's a list of side effects from Novartis' Prescribing Info for Reclast. Also, keep in mind that prolonged use (more than 5 years) is no longer recommended by some Dr's due to the recent warning on it's relationship to possible femur fractures with no major injury to explain it. The previous link is from the Journal of American Medical Association from February 2011.
Pay particular attention to the warning on the presence of kidney disease or failure, which needs to be ruled out before considering this. Be sure to read the entire prescribing information from Novartis, above, in the first link. Hydrating well before, during and after the infusion is paramount.
