Does annual injections of Reclast promote bone regrowth as does the daily injections of Forteo for the trearment of Osteoporosis?

Hi Reggieballs, welcome and thanks for your question.  Reclast works differently than Forteo.  In a recent interview with Dr. Diemer from Washington Univ. she explained Reclast like this: "Reclast is an antiresorptive agent which means it inhibits the osteoclasts - the cells that break down bone - to allow the osteoblasts - the cells that build bone - to rebuild bone (Dr. Kathryn Diemer, 2009 on biannual Reclast)."

 

Forteo works by increasing the production of osteoblasts so it does promote new bone growth in that way.  I hope this answers your question.
