Hi Reggieballs, welcome and thanks for your question.  Reclast works differently than Forteo.  In a recent interview with Dr. Diemer from Washington Univ. she explained Reclast like this: "Reclast is an antiresorptive agent which means it inhibits the osteoclasts - the cells that break down bone - to allow the osteoblasts - the cells that build bone - to rebuild bone (Dr. Kathryn Diemer, 2009 on biannual Reclast)."   Forteo works by increasing the production of osteoblasts so it does promote new bone growth in that way.  I hope this answers your question.   Good luck with your treatment.
