Is this safe for?

Toad

Is this drug safe for someone who has Lymphedema of the Arm. I have this condition due to Breast Cancer Surgery and Radition.  1991

I'd say my Lymphedema is at least a stage 2 1/2  I have fiberous areas and still some soft areas that pit.   Concerned this drug will cause more problems as I have had numerous infection in this arm and am now allergic to penicillian.

Any information would be greatly appreciated my Dr. is suggesting this treatment and I'm not to sure I want to take the risk.  Don't have my actual numbers of the bone Denstiy test but he is really trying to talk me into it saying I'm at risk.

Hi Toad, welcome and thanks for your question.  I'm sorry but I don't know anything about lymphedema or cancer.  I'm also not sure what drug your talking about.  Could you repost with the drug name?  Sorry to hear you have this but you should be able to get great help from the link below.

Here's a link to our BreastCancer "Ask a Question" site where you can talk to patient experts with lymphedema and possibly osteoporosis.

Good luck and post again with more info if you can.

I'm sorry I was referring to Reclast  bone infusion treatment.

I read one of the side effects can be Edema of the legs feet hands and arms.

I'm trying to find out more since I have a Lymph node problem on my right side.

Hi Toad, your best bet is to talk to the very knowledgeable women at the Breast Cancer site link I gave you above.  They should be able to answer this for you.  If not, come back here and I'll do some research on edema with Reclast, and be sure to talk to your oncologist and osteoporosis Dr. as well, since this is very important.

Good luck...
