Hi Denise:  Miacalcin is a medication for the treatment of osteoporosis in post menopausal women.  It's main ingredient is calcitonin from salmon, that comes in a nasal spray form.  When considering any new drug treatment, ask your Dr to explain how the drug works, who should consider it and if there are any contraindications on it with other meds you may be taking. 

 

I would suggest checking the drug co's web site on any new drug you are considering, because most of them have free trials or coupons for the first fill of the medication, just in case you don't have insurance.
