Q: Does Forteo have any affect on Cortesol production in the body?

I am currently being assessed for Cushin's disease - two years ago I completed a two year course of Forteo.

My question concerns the production of Cortisol and how it could be affected by Forteo...

Hi Revtheis, welcome and thanks for your question.  No Forteo shouldn't have an affect on cortisol levels.  If you are being checked for Cushing disease I would ask the Dr. what causes this disorder of high cortisol levels.  Prolonged use of steriod hormones, like prednisone, and cortisone, can cause elevated levels of cortisol.

Good luck with this and I hope your Dr. finds out why your cortisol is high and can treat it successfully.
