Q: what are the side effects of using forteo?

Hi Mary,

Thank you for your question. Forteo (generic name teriparatide) is a synthetic (man-made) version of the parathyroid hormone that exists naturally in our bodies. It is used to treat osteoporosis in men and women who are at high risk for fractures. Common side effects of Forteo include upset stomach, dizziness, and flu-like symptoms.
