Is there any side effect of Fosamax drug for stroke patient who has taken it before consulting a physician
Hi PHL, welcome to the community. I'm not sure I understand your question. Are you asking if it's safe for a stroke patient to use Fosamax? If so you'd have to discuss this fully with your Dr. since he/she would be the only one who could answer this. Fosamax does not list any side effects, like blood clots, or other stroke related issues, but I would make sure it's safe to take by talking to your Dr. before you start the medication.
Good luck
I have had 3 strokes and I was put on Fosamax two years after my last one and I had side effects of chills and nausea all day when I took, felt awful. It just put me down in bed for the day. Then he put me on Actonel for a short time and I had the same side effects. It got so that I just could not tolerate it any longer so he put me on Boniva monthly which I have not had any major side effects other excerbating my osteo-arthritis I feel. Next month I am to start on the quarterly Boniva infusions.
