Hello Laurence,  I must say this is the first time i've ever seen an actual report posted, it is loaded with information that is helpful.  Lets start with the report itself...on the bottom corner of the page is an explanation about DEXA scores. Your wife? is still in the osteopenia stage, which means that her scores haven't reached the -2.5 where the dx of osteoprosois begins,  Having osteopenia is a wake up call that tells a person its time to make some lifestyle changes.  She has taken the first step in being dx and started on Protelos.  It would now be a good idea for her to increase her amount of exercise to include both weight bearing, like walking, and weight training with light hand weights.  Both of those are good for building density and overall well being.  She should also make sure she is getting enough calcium from both the food she eats and from supplements.  Vitamin D, magnesium, vitamin K2 , and fish oil are some of the others she should consider.  Staying active, eating a healthy diet and following the dr. advice will take her a long way in improving her bone density. If she has already started doing these things then she is on her way to better bones.   Since she has only been on protelos for 3 months it may be too soon to get the results she's looking for. I  am taking strontium citrate (we can't get protelos in the USA) and did show improvements after 9 months, that was almost 2.5 years ago and i'll have another DEXA this coming summer with hopefully even better improvements.  Has she read the information that came with the protelos and  discussed any questions she might have with her dr?  Since her dr. prescibed it for he will  be a good source of information on what to expect and how long it will take.  He may  also be able to explain why her forearm score went down and the spine and hips stayed the same.  When she sees him next have her take a list of questions with her so  they can go over them together.    From what i have read about protelos  in studies it is shown to have good results in both increasing bone density and the reduction of fractures.  But like anything else it will take time, patience and effort on the part of the person.   I hope i have  answered what you are asking, if not, please write again with specific questions and we'll do our best to answer them for you.  take care...phyllis
