This is a great question and I will share with you my own personal advice -- based on how I transport my son's EpiPen. I place it by itself in a 1-quart bag, and the baggie alone in the bin, so it can easily be viewed, identified and X-rayed. I also carry the prescription with me just in case, although I've never been asked for it.   In the case of Forteo, remember that the drug needs to be kept refrigerated, which could be a problem on a longer flight. A potential solution would be to bring a small cooler (soft-sided would be the most practical) and ask for ice at a restaurant past the security lines. But talk to your physician about what the best plan might be.    If you want the official word from TSA, take a look at http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/specialneeds/editorial_1059.shtm  Unfortunately, everyone has heard horror stories of unstudied officials violating their own policies and taking away cancer medications or other crucial items, but let's hope those aberrations are problems of the past. Good luck and safe travels.
