Hi april, welcome to the community. Osteoporosis doesn't usually cause any pain until you've fractured a bone. Since your mother is having pain, I would see that she see's her Dr. to find out what the cause is. If she has fractured a bone in the neck or back the Dr. would find out with an x-ray or similar test. Since the pain is worse, look into getting an x-ray or finding out if something else is causing the pain. There are many things that could cause this type of pain besides osteoporosis.
