Q: WHERE CAN I GET HELP WITH THE CO PAYMENT FOR RECLAST?

I AM ENROLLED IN HUMANA GOLD PLAN. MY DOCTOR HAS ARRANGED FOR ME TO RECEIVE AN INJECTION OF RECLAST. MY COPAYMENT IS $232.96.  I CANNOT AFFORD THE COPAYMENT. WHERE CAN I GET HELP SO I CAN GET RECLAST? WHO MANUFACTURES RECLAST?

Hi Eileen, I just wanted to check with you to see if I can help.  You do realize the copay you mentioned is a once yearly payment?  If you still can't afford this, go to this web site for Novartis and see if you could get help from them on the patient assistance program.  If you are on Medicare, they may be able to help in some way but I'm not absolutely sure.

Good luck...

Thank you for your suggestions. I called Novartis and they only help people with no insurante.  I will try Medicare and I left a message for my doctor.  I don't give up and expect to find help somewhere. Take care! Eileen

Hi Eileen, sorry to hear that you are having problems with the co-pay.  The maker of Reclast is Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp., a US  affiliate of the Swiss based Novartis. I don't know about Novatis, but some drug comapinies have programs that help people get the the drugs they need.  I don't know if this will help but maybe you could call a large pharmacy and ask if they have customer service phone numbers for the big drug companies or a well informed pharmacist may even be able to connect you with someone who can help.  take care..phyllis

Hi  Phyllis,  I called Novartis and they only help people with no insurance.  I will try my pharmacist that is a good idea.  I left a message for my doctor and perhaps she might have some ideas.  Thank you and have a great day...Eileen
