Dear Jerry, You will get full training from a practice nurse regarding injections and side effects. I found with my husband, cramping when he was on a daily dosage was bad in his calves and chest...this was somewhat alieviated by injecting every other day. Forteo promotes bone growth and was offered to heal a broken bone after avn surgery. Be mindful to remember to do it the same time each day and in a different place. My husband said it stung once injected but the vial must be refrigerated and discarded after 30 days as it becomes cloudy. Also ensure your pharmacist keeps your rx refrigered before you get it...thats a big problem with this drug...pharmacy compliancy. The whole needle thing, and practice takes a bit of time, make sure there are no bubbles etc...good luck..(I have a article on Forteo on this site of you are interested..annie)
