Hi Robert, welcome and thanks for your question. Forteo is being used for non-healing pelvic fractures and othe types of fractures, but if the patient has had radiation *to the bone* you can't take it. If the radiation went directly to the sacrum then that means the bone was exposed to radiation.
If you want to read about Forteo's use in non-healing fraxs here's an article below, but again you can't take it if your bones have been exposed to radiation. If there had been no radiation treatment then Forteo is used in some of these cases. Just be sure your Dr. is aware of the warnings on the Forteo patient insert (black box warning) or PDR.
Article titled New Hope for Pelvic Frax using Forteo. Taape is absolutely correct about not being able to use Forteo if you've had radiation to the bone.
Good luck, the article also mentions a clinical trial on this type of treatment.
I've never heard of using Forteo for fractures unless the patient is diagnosed with osteoporosis as it's an osteoporosis medication. There may be off label use of it but you may have to look this up in a medical journal or call the manufacturer. I also think that if you have bone radiation it is not recommended due to the black box warning.
