I know what your Mom is going through. I have had severe bone pain that has altered my life dramatically. I didn't actually start for several weeks after Reclast and it was localized in my right side. No one connected it to the drug. I actually had unnecessary gall bladder surgery. After that the pain started all over and I was the one who put two and two together. I am miserable and only pray that it goes away after a year -- I have 4 more months to go. I also hope that there is no permanent damage. Tell your Mom she is not alone. I actually was not told that this could be a side effect. I was only told about possible short-lived rare effects such as flu-like symptoms which I never had. No one knows what it is like unless you go through it.
