Hi Mikids:  I took forteo for 2 years and did really well on it.  The Dr that is treating me took me off of forteo for 2 months to test my calcium levels.  I didn't have any negative reaction from going off of forteo, but I would ask your Dr what he/she thinks.  Is there a reason why you aren't finishing the last 2 months of tx?  We are all different in how we react to meds so it's hard to say what, if anything, would happen.  The only thing I can think of is loosing out on the full tx, but I don't think that would be a problem.  Some people take forteo for 18 mos and some 24, and I don't know if there is any difference between the results in the 2 groups.  Have you read the Cleveland Clinincs pdf on forteo?  If not it is an excellent read and easy to understand.  This article answers most questions on forteo.

Good Luck...
