Q: I am taking Forteo for osteoperosis after a serious leg break. I am wondering if there is data about Forteo and bone loss around implants in my mouth.

Hi Lauren, welcome!  Yes Forteo is used in oral surgeries to promote bone growth.  As you probably know, it's also used to stimulate bone growth in femur fractures as well.  Here's an article on Forteo and Oral Bone Graft surgery and it's use in other skeletal sites after surgery.

I hope your leg break heals soon and that the Forteo will stimulate bone growth in your implant surgery.

Good luck!
