Q: If I have tremors in my hands will I still be able to inject Forteo? I have generalized dystonia which causes the tremors. Medication helps but does not eliminate the tremors.

Hi Gertrude, welcome...  I'm not sure how this will affect your ability to inject Forteo.  Have you attended the instruction class yet?  Before you start Forteo, there is a training class so you can practice giving the injection.  I would imagine you'll find out if you can do this at that time.  This class takes place before the medication is filled so you're prepared to do this on your own.

I would go to the class and find out.  This injection process is very simple and is nothing like a regular injection with the syringe.  The medication is pre-measured, and all you really have to do is clean the injection site (with alcohol) attach the needle (5/16th or 3/16th of an inch) insert the needle into the site and push the button on the pen.

Good luck with this, and I think you'll know the answer to your question when you try the practice injection.
