Hi AbbyL, welcome to the community.  Once we stop producing hormones naturally we loose bone density, so I don't know if taking HRT would help or not.  Many people can't take HRT, and there are some Drs who believe the risk is to high, and others who think otherwise, but that depends on your history of cancer, heart conditions and stokes/blood clots.  If you don't have any of these problems, then I would ask your OB/GYN this question since he or she is the only one, besides yourself that knows your medical history, and what your personal risks may be.   Good luck finding out about this, I'm sure your Dr could help you in answering this question.
