Q: Pain in back and upper leg when lying down

When I lie down, I have pain that goes from my lower back down my leg to my knee.  It happens when I lie either on my back or on either side.  Sometimes it is helped when I put a pillow between my legs but not always.  It started when I was pregnant and has continued for 4 years.  I'm really wondering what this could be.  When I was pregnant, the doctor said it was round ligament pain, but can that continue after pregnancy?  Could this be something different?

Hi jenr!  Sorry for the typos...I'm posting from my cell...my computer is totally dead.

I would make an appointment with an orthopedic, & see what he/she has to say.  I have similair pain, but it is from damage to my sciatic nerve (nerve traveling from spine to your foot).  They  could check for soft tissue problrms, like you mentioned, or nerve disorders.  If you can...make that appointment , or ask your current doctor to look into this further.

Best of luck yo you!
