I am a 47 year old white female with osteopenia, worsening since my last bone density scan.

My mother was diagnosed with osteoporosis at age 51 and has been on Fosamax since that time (13 years) with excellent results.  I am interested in starting medication to prevent any further worsening and my gynecologist was agreeable with this. My menstrual cycles are regular. Is there any…
