Hi Lori, here's the World Health Organizations definition on t-scores:   Normal bone:  Any score better than -1.0 Osteopenia:  Any score between -1.0 and -2.5 Osteoporosis:  Any score less than -2.5       Severe osteoporosis is a score of -2.5 and below with a non-traumatic fracture.  However, t-scores alone do not give us the full picture.  You also need to know your Frax score, and remember that even though your score may be low, your bone quality may be great.    While at the World Health Org's Frax tool, choose  "calculation tool" then "your country" and fill in the info.  Unfortunately we don't have a way to measure bone quality, other than having a bone biopsy, which is not something most would do, since it would only be indicated if you had non-healing fractures, other metabolic bone disorders, and I don't think insurance companies would pay for this just for an osteoporosis diagnosis.    Don't panic...We all go through what you're experiencing when first diagnosed.  Just keep in mind you may never have a fracture, and if so that's the most important thing.   Take Care...
