Hi Faye: Recently Avandia has been in the news regarding it effects on bone loss. Here's a link that explains the drug Avandia and it's connection to osteoporosis. Definitely speak with your husband's Dr to get their recommendation, but the article mentions that men had the same reaction to the drug that women did, in regards to bone loss, but maybe to a slightly lesser extent.
