How do the different sodiums compare to table salt?

I'm 75 and am on a low sodium diet.  I have a pacemaker because of 3rd degree heart block and take Ramipril, ace inhibitor, & Atenolol, 325 mg aspirin.  Have severe osteo in lumbar spine & hips.  I have constant burning pain.

The side effects seem to accelerate the pain, etc.  So I would like to know if I take Actonel would it be considered sodium intake same as table salt?  considering all the side effects I am fearful; however, I realize that having a hip or spine fracture would be terrible.  Also I already have TMJ & I'm sure osteo in the jaw.  I've used Fortical spray.

Hi JPHBY, thanks for the very good question. I couldn't find a good answer for you, but suggest you call your local pharmacy and ask the phamacist.  They would be more familiar with the different types of salt used in medications and how they differ from table salt.  This may also be a good question for you cardiololgist or the dr. who suggested you try one of the osteo drugs.  take care...phyllis
