Why ask three times during a DEXA if I have broken a bone recently?
Why would a DEXA technician ask three times if I'd broken a bone recently? The first was during general screening questions, next after the spine scan and again after the hip scan.
No, I have never broken a bone. My baseline DEXA two years ago showed that I have the bone density of a 30-year-old. My family has a history of familial chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
I will be following up with my GP, but wonder why the need to repeat the question again and again.
Hi Iheardyouthefirsttime, welcome and thanks for your question. Boy I sure don't know why someone would ask you that question three times. I wouldn't worry about it though there's probably a simple explanation for this, that you aren't aware of.
Since your bone density sounds really good I would just wait to talk to the Dr. about your recent results and then ask the Dr. why someone would ask this question. I suppose there is a "slight" chance that the technician saw something unusal that may have looked like a fracture, but I still won't worry about it since there's any number of reasons she could have ask this question multiple times.
Good luck I hope you get a great report.
