Hi Nancy: I've never used Ezorb, so hopefully someone who has will post. I looked at their web site, and was struck by the price, it seems very expensive to me.
I guess you could try it, but I would see if you can have a dxa after 12 months on it and see if you improve any. I'm always leary when new calcium supplements come out, since *some* believe our body really can't tell the difference between the supplements. Now that the recommendations for calcium are clearly established you're always going to find a company that claims they have the best calcium available and I don't know how accurate that is. If these companies are strictly jumping on the band wagon to make money, I would make sure their paricular claims are absolutely true first. I've always been told that the best form of calcium is obtained from the diet, and then if you need to supplement more because you aren't getting enough from food, you would add a supplement to that.
As far as absorbability, you can use the instructions included in the article from Dr Gonter on calcium and see how long it takes to dissolve.
I'm not aware of any tests that were done between Actonel and calcium. Just remember that if you take any of the osteoporosis meds you also need to take the recommended amount of calcium and vitamin D as well as weight bearing execise.
Good luck...
